Baby goats have to be the cutest baby animals in the world!
I knew that several of our Nigerian Dwarf does would be kidding sometime, but they run in the same pasture with the billy so I had no idea when to expect babies.
Last week, I looked out the window and there in the shed was a baby goat! After going out to look it over and figure out who its mother was, I discovered that another doe also had a baby goat!
Both new ones are doe kids, so we continued with our nuts and seeds theme. Hazelnut, Chestnut and Pecan are our older does. Sunflower is our teenager doe. The new babies are Almond and Cashew.
Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds, for riches do not last forever; and does a crown endure to all generations? When the grass is gone and the new growth appears and the vegetation of the mountains is gathered, the lambs will provide your clothing, and the goats the price of a field. There will be enough goats’ milk for your food, for the food of your household and maintenance for your girls. — Proverbs 27:23-27
